Creative Business Development Workbook
A practical planning workbook for artists, makers and creative business owners ready for their next chapter.
You’ve built a creative business. Now it’s time to step back from the day-to-day, look at the bigger picture and decide where you want to take it next.
The Creative Business Development Workbook by Sarah Sculley is designed to help established creative entrepreneurs reflect on their business, discover new opportunities and create a clear plan for the year ahead. Whether you want to develop new products, expand your services, improve your marketing, increase your income or create a better work-life balance, this workbook gives you the space and prompts to work it out.
Put aside the never-ending to-do list, grab your favourite pen and give yourself the time to work on your business, not just in it.
What’s inside?

A 12-month content creation and marketing calendar
Plan your marketing for the year with undated monthly calendar pages, a content and marketing ideas spread, colour-coded platform and theme keys, and a space to record major launches and events. Fill in your own dates and tailor the calendar to your business.
18 dot-grid pages for your ideas
Use the extra dot-grid pages to brainstorm, sketch, map out new products, develop ideas and capture all the possibilities for your business.
More than a workbook. A chance to reset.
This workbook is designed to be completed over at least one focused day, giving you time away from emails, notifications and everyday distractions to think strategically about your future.
Keep your workbook and revisit it each year. Use a different coloured pen to update your ideas, refine your plans and see how far your business has evolved.
Who is this workbook for?
Created for established sole traders and small business owners in the creative industries, including artists, designers, makers, photographers, illustrators and online shop owners.
If you’ve been trading for a while and are ready to develop new ideas, explore fresh opportunities or create a more intentional direction for your business, this workbook is for you.
Please note: This workbook is designed for existing businesses rather than start-ups. It provides prompts, planning tools and space to develop your own ideas; the results come from the time and thought you invest in the process.
Your creative business is yours to shape. Take a step back, make some space and start planning what comes next.
