Should You Join an Art Coaching Program?

An artists in their art studio looking happy and holding brushes

I have had a lot of artists getting in touch with me lately and asking whether they should join the Group Coaching Program. So I thought I'd write a blog post that asks the questions you are probably asking yourself and highlights what benefits a Group Coaching Program can bring you. I've been in your position - feeling a bit stuck and not knowing the next step. Having all the great ideas and exhausted trying to make them all work. Needing some feedback and guidance. It can be tough to invest in yourself and your business, but as you'll see below - it's worth the investment. Plus it's tax deductable!

1. You Feel Stuck or Overwhelmed If you're spinning your wheels, unsure how to get more art sales, find time to create, or market your work effectively, you're not alone. A good art coaching program helps you create clarity, structure, and momentum. You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

2. You Want Accountability and Motivation It’s easy to put your art business on the backburner when you’re working solo. Regular check-ins, group sessions, or personal goals can help keep you on track. Coaching brings that gentle nudge (or kick in the pants!) when you need it most.

3. You Need Practical, Actionable Advice From pricing your artwork to writing an artist bio or applying for grants, coaching provides you with the tools and templates to make progress faster. Instead of Googling endlessly or guessing your way through, you get guidance that actually works.

4. You Want to Connect with Other Artists Art coaching programs often include community support. You’ll be surrounded by like-minded creatives who get it. You can learn from their experiences, share your own, and celebrate wins together.

5. You’re Ready to Treat Your Art Like a Business This might be the biggest shift: deciding that your art deserves to be more than a hobby. A coaching program can help you step into that mindset and create a sustainable, fulfilling creative career.

What Makes a Good Art Coaching Program?

  • Clear structure and consistent sessions

  • A mix of strategy and emotional support

  • Real-life experience from the coach

  • A community that lifts you up

Look for a coach whose values align with yours, who communicates clearly, and who has a track record of supporting artists like you.

If you're an artist looking for grounded, honest advice from someone who's done the work, the Creative Business Group Coaching Program is worth exploring. With fortnightly live coaching, a library of art business videos, and a warm community of creatives, it offers everything you need to grow your art practice.

Testimonials from current Group Coaching Artists in the program

"If your creative arts business is all over the place and you need some advice, motivation and mentorship, Sarah's program is fantastic! Going into my second month of the program and it's really making a difference to my practice" - Susan

"I really enjoyed having access to so many helpful videos and Sarah is so generous with her knowledge...no gatekeeping here! The Group Coaching was a nice way to hear what other artists are wanting from the program and to connect with fellow artists is so important. I love Sarah's energy and generous spirit...plus she has a great sense of humour which I think we all could use more of. She's done a brilliant job and really cares about supporting fellow creatives." - Gin

"I found Sarah’s group mentoring after searching online. I have enjoyed the intimate group setting of the zoom chats, serious chats about where I’m at and tips for the next step. Also the accountability of having a mentor and inspiration from other group members". - Astrid

Final Thoughts

If you've been wondering whether an art coaching program is right for you, this is your sign. Investing in your art business is an investment in your future, your creativity, and your confidence.

Still unsure? Ask yourself:

  • Where do I want my art practice to be in 6 months?

  • What support do I need to get there?

You don’t have to do it alone.

If you are still unsure, try listening to a few episodes of the Art + Business + Murals podcast.
