CREATE A COLOURFUL SPRAY PAINTED + STENCILLED CANVAS ARTWORK WITH YOUR STUDENTS OVER A 6-8 WEEK ONLINE PROGRAM
TEACHERS NOTES, SUPPLY LISTS AND VIDEOS SUPPLIED
Learn from one of Australia’s veteran stencil artists – Sarah Sculley. With over a decade of experience teaching spray paint and stencil workshops in secondary schools, Sarah hopes to encourage more students to confidently create artwork with spray paint.
This workshop is for students in secondary school who are spray paint and stencil beginners. The lessons progress through concept development, spray paint safety and techniques, preparing a two-layer stencil in Adobe Photoshop, cutting the stencils, spraying the stencils, mark making, critiquing and FAQs.
Sarah will guide your students through a step-by-step process to create a two-layer stencil artwork. The lessons are clear and well structured. Each class begins with a video tutorial which briefs the students and demonstrates techniques before encouraging the students to use the remaining class time to practise this new technique.
This course is intended to be purchased by Australian Secondary School Art Departments for use by teachers to watch the videos with the students during class.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM
THE STENCILS + SPRAY PAINT ONLINE WORKSHOP
This workshop includes a number of resources for both teachers and students. Teachers' notes for each lesson, a supply list and where to purchase (in Australia), stencil templates ready to print and cut, as well as textural stencil templates. Also included are printable instructions on how to use Photoshop to create stencils. Although this instructional video is included, it can be difficult to remember all the steps. The printable instructions are a great resource to print and put on the wall for future reference.
FLEXIBLE LESSON PLANS
The ideal amount of time for this workshop is 8 lessons of 45 - 60 min in length. With a 4 – 10 min video introduction to each lesson, the students will then have the remainder of the time to create the practical aspect of the program. The workshop can be shortened to 6 lessons and still create an impressive canvas artwork outcome.
Students are encouraged to have a laptop to work from. Ideally, Adobe Photoshop installed on the laptop, but if this is not possible, Sarah offers other options to prepare stencils. If time constraints do not allow for an 8 lesson program, students can skip the Photoshop lesson and use the 26 stencil templates provided. Purchase this workshop only once and receive lifetime access to this teaching tool.

ABOUT YOUR COACH
Hi, I'm Sarah Sculley - a Street Artist and Creative Business Coach based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. I have been working in the Creative Industries for over 20 years and painting murals for over a decade. I have painted walls in Australia, China, Nepal, America and Indonesia.
When I first started painting murals I had a tough time finding all the information I needed: what paint to use, how to prepare the wall, how to quote on projects and providing proofs. I spent the first few years of my career asking all the graffiti artists, researching and learning through my mistakes. My hope is to be the mentor to you, that I originally needed.
I aim to pass on everything I know around business and murals. My belief is that there are enough walls in the world for everyone to paint. Street Art has provided a full time income for me since 2018 and I believe it can do the same for you.
Would you prefer to have Sarah deliver the workshop in your classroom? Not a problem. Head over to the School Workshop page to view the available workshops.
